TYPES OF SCHOOLS
Since
1998, there have been 4 main types of maintained school in England:
- community
schools
(formerly county schools)
- voluntary
controlled schools

voluntary
aided schools
- foundation
schools
SECONDARY EDUCATION

Secondary education extends from 7th grade to 11th grade and is designed for students aged 12 to 16
years.
-> Some schools offer the option to continue for an additional two years of high school (12th and 13th grades).
-> Following the success of class 10th and 11th, students receive the General Certificate of Secondary Education, the "General Certificate of Secondary Education" (GCSE) which is equivalent to the Brevet. In general, this review has 5 to 10 subjects.
